I’ve covered the nuts-and-bolts of entrepreneurship for clients including Intuit, Portfolio.com, BNET, Hotfrog.com, OPEN Forum, Family Business Magazine, and Restaurant Business Magazine, and have ghostwritten numerous articles for high-profile CEOs. As a small business owner myself (my husband and I jointly own Hawkins Multimedia, LLC and our flagship site, Gimundo.com), I’m well-attuned to the unique needs of small business owners, and I’m passionate about staying up to date on small business trends and profiling successful business owners.

Non-Profits and Philanthropy

I previously worked as content strategist and editor for the online fundraising platform Razoo.com, where I wrote and edited feature stories about unique non-profit groups and tips on giving wisely. Insurance may not seem all that exciting—but there’s a fascinating world buried beneath all of the dry legalese, and I know how to get at it. I’ve written about topics like the rise of arson in the economic recession and the dangers of driving in distress for clients including State Farm’s Good Neighbor Magazine, GEICO Now Magazine, InsuranceQuotes.com, and Insurance.com.

Personal Finance

Whether writing for college students just learning about credit cards or investors concerned about their retirement funds, I’ve covered a vast array of personal finance topics for clients including Charles Schwab’s On Investing, TD Ameritrade’s Enlightened Investor, GetCurrency.com, Experian.com, and Mint.com.

Lifestyle

Want to know where to get a good beer in Portland, Maine, or how to get a gourmet meal in outer space? I’ve covered food and drink for publications such as DRAFT Magazine, Chow.com, and TuttieFoodie.com. Though I don’t travel as often as I’d like these days (a two-year-old will do that), I’ve written about destinations near and far for publications including MyMidwest Magazine, US Airways Magazine, and Away.com.

University Alumni Publications

I’ve written profiles of notable alumni and faculty—anyone from an 86-year-old female military veteran to an organic farm consultant—for a wide range of university publications, including Bates College, University of Pittsburgh, St. Joseph’s College, Barnard College, and Husson University.

Environment

I’m passionate about covering stories about sustainable living and conservation, and have written for clients including E: The Environmental Magazine, Wildlife Conservation Magazine, and EcoSalon.com.

Technology

I've written white papers, e-books, sponsored posts, and other marketing materials for enterprise clients in the technology industry including Acquia, Innotas, and Citrix.

Parenting

I've still got lots to learn about parenting, but the journey with my daughter Leah has been a wild ride so far, and I've shared my stories with publications including BELLA Magazine.
